Overall, it was a great weekend of baseball for the Stars. We played solid defense the entire weekend and our pitchers did a good job of throwing strikes and getting ahead of hitters. These two things are even more important this year with the IHSAA implementing the mandatory pitch count rule. At the plate, our hitters did an excellent job of being patient and waiting for their pitch. We scored 30 runs on 30 hits. As a staff, we were very pleased with how the team played in all areas; pitching, hitting, fielding, and base running. One of the keys to the success of the weekend was the electric dugout. Everyone was cheering on their teammates, on and off the field. Each player was in the game mentally, physically, and emotionally. It was a great thing to see. We are in it for one reason: The TEAM.
