Cal and Cam Gates earn distinguished honors this summer playing for their respective teams.
Cam was selected to the 15U Midwest Stars USA Baseball squad for the USA NTIS program.
The NTIS utilizes a six-region system for the initial player identification process. The six regions consist of the Midwest, Northeast, Northwest, South, Southeast and Southwest. All six NTIS regions will be managed and operated by a USA Baseball-appointed Regional Director. Each Regional Director is responsible for the planning and execution of the player identification process for their assigned region(s), and will ultimately name the All-Region teams that will move on to the NTIS Champions Cup. The USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS) is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball. Launched in 2009, the program was created to provide all athletes from across the United States an opportunity to compete for a spot on a USA Baseball national team.
Cam's 15U Midwest Stars team finished 2nd in the USA NTIS National Cup Championship.
Congratulations to Cal on a great summer and fall baseball season, highlighted by making the East Coast Pro baseball showcase, which evaluates and educates the top high school and MLB pipeline players from the eastern United States. The ECP showcase was a four-day event in Hoover, AL ran by Major League Baseball (MLB) scouts and provided a glimpse of the life of a minor league player.
Cal also participated in the Perfect Game WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, FL with the Canes Midwest National team, who earned the overall #1 tournament seed and finished in the Final 4 of the event. The WWBA World Championship is a highly scouted event and showcased many of the best class of 2025 players in the world.
