LAFAYETTE – Bedford North Lawrence’s Cal Gates completed his high school career as a contributor to a three-game weekend sweep by the South during the 50th annual North-South All-Star series.

The South posted 4-3 and 7-4 victories during the doubleheader on Saturday, then capped the domination with a 10-2 win in the finale on Sunday.

Gates, who is headed to Indiana University, had two hits in the three games, including a triple. He also walked twice, stole 2 bases, scored three runs and had a RBI.

North Posey’s Colby Angel was named MVP after collecting five hits, including a double and triple, for the South.
