What a season it was for BNL Stars Baseball! From capturing the first Hoosier Hills Conference Championship in program history to making to the Sectional Championship Game, this group represented our school, community, and program with pride. We recognize several players for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the 2026 season.

Until now. The Stars exorcised a curse, the demons, whatever had been keeping them from joining the list of champions. That’s over. That’s why they erupted with unabashed glee, with the emotions spewing out like a volcanic eruption. This was for 50-plus years of frustration, for all those who have worn the uniform. Win or lose, with a memory-making victory or heartbreaking loss at stake, Chastain was the horse Bedford North Lawrence rode in on. And the Stars were rewarded for their faith in the junior hurler with a triumph for the ages.

BEDFORD – Cancer steals life, with such viciousness and disregard for how well the victim lived and cherished it, but it cannot rob memories. Those last for the next generations, recalling a soft smile or a captured moment, a gentle touch or a proud handshake. Everyone has been touched by the brutal disease, all have a favorite snapshot of those who have battled valiantly and bravely.

BEDFORD – Cancer does not discriminate. As suggested by the roll call of honorees, the family members and friends who were selected by Bedford North Lawrence players and coaches for special mention during the annual Stars vs. Cancer fundraiser game to battle the dreaded disease, there’s no immunity to its emotional toll and impact.
